Through educational programs, an online directory and funding, Buy From a Woman (BFABW) is a leader in supporting Black Women in business. In 2023 H&M supported BFABW in taking its mission international with an introduction event and reception in Toronto, followed by an BFABW Inspire Tour stop in 2024. In addition, H&M helped to design and deliver the curriculum for the annual BFABW Accelerator Program, a nine-week educational program geared to supporting the organization’s vendors in continuing to growing their businesses.
In its continued support of the Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC), H&M hosted a Career Day in its New York Showroom for program participants. The experience included tips on job readiness, resume writing and interview techniques. Attendees also took part in an interactive activity in which they created day-to-night looks with H&M fashions.
H&M has been a proud contributor to The Trevor Project since 2021 to enable the organization’s life sustaining work. Programs offered by Trevor include 24/7 crisis counselling, support and intervention, advocacy, and suicide prevention.
In 2023, H&M formalized a partnership with Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) as the title sponsor of its annual Sustainability Summit. The event aims to enlighten the multicultural fashion community about sustainable fashion issues and careers. In addition, H&M collaborated with HFR for the grand opening of its store in Harlem. The collaboration resulted in a limited-edition capsule collection, including bespoke hoodies designed by two talented students from the Harlem School of Arts.
