Why did you choose to apply to H&M and Business Trainee?
I have a strong interest in retail and design, and H&M has therefore always been an obvious choice as a future employer. The fact that you are given the opportunity to work in an international environment in Stockholm or out in the countries is a big plus in my book. The structure of the Business Trainee program was excellent in order to get a good insight into each part of the company, without for that matter falling into a box.
Tell us what you did as a trainee?
I spent my first period at the Buying Office in Stockholm, where I worked together with the Business Controller for lingerie. The second period I spent in Bangalore, India. Here I primarily supported the Country Controller with analyzes, but also got to work in my own projects with optimizing internal work at our quality department. Then I went on to the third and final period in Rome, Italy. I worked mostly with an Area Controller but also got to spend time with the ones responsible for sales and expansion.
Why would you recommend the Business Trainee program to anyone?
It provides a unique opportunity for insight into the different organizations. I have had great use of both my time at the Buying Office and in Production during my nearly 2 years within Sales in a country. The opportunity to travel and meet incredibly many interesting and talented people is another point that makes me wholeheartedly recommend Business Trainee program.
What was the best with the Business Trainee program?
The best is the insights I gained in our different organizations and the responsibility that is given during the program. Besides that I grew in my professional role during the program I also grew as a person. To see our sustainability initiatives in India and talking to employees of our subcontractors are moments I will never forget. It made me equally humble as proud to work for a company that takes responsibility!
