I started my H&M journey in September 2015, being a trainee in the sixth ITP batch. My first two months were in Sweden, where I worked in store and spent three challenging but great fun weeks learning more about H&M and expansion with hands-on training within leasing, store development and sales. After these months, I joined the East European team in Warsaw, where I firstly worked within store development, and secondly within merchandising. Since August 2016, I work as expansion controller in Stockholm for the Swedish market, where my role is to support the expansion team with analyzing and following-up store projects to achieve our expansion goals, being a link between expansion, construction and other controlling functions in the organization, both locally and globally.
Your favorite ITP memory?
There are so many great memories that I bring with me from my ITP year, most of which relate to the people I’ve met and the curious, exciting and ambitious culture of the company. In addition, a strong memory for me was the confidence and responsibility in projects that I was given from day dot from colleagues and managers, which really made me grow and feel like an integral and strongly contributing part to H&M in general, and the expansion team in particular.
Why would you recommend the ITP program to others?
There is for sure no better program than ITP for those who want to shape the future of fashion and retail, and being able to do so from working abroad. In such a short time, you, as an ITP trainee, are exposed to and get a thorough understanding of the many various functions of the company, you gain loads of invaluable, international experience and get to know colleagues and friends from different corners and cultures the world.
